I'm always trying to eat healthier. Today I made some food from my new cookbook "Faves" by Melissa Chappell of Raw Melissa. Here are two foods I tried (in the above pictures) The first picture is of Spring Rolls in dipping sauce (really healthy and tasty). The second one picture is of Chocolate Peppermint Fudge. It just has Cocoa power, agave, coconut oil and peppermint oil (Brooke, she suggested to use Doterra oil and I was happy I had some to use.)
I was able to also hear Melissa speak and I was really inspired after hearing her. She mostly talked about intuitive and purposeful eating; Eat when your hungry and stop when your full (wow, do we really have to be told that?). It's alot about listening to what your body is hungry for (good whole foods, or maybe it's just thirsty or tired)
Eat good fats, (avacado, nuts, olive oil, coconut oil they actually help us metabolize fat)
Eat whole foods whenever possible, nuts, fruits, veggies, whole grains, eggs, honey, etc...
NO GUILT~if you have a treat, just enjoy every bite and don't over do it. There really are a lot of whole foods treats such as smoothies, my fudge seen above and more.
When we start eating better, we stop having the cravings for crap and processed foods. REALLY, I have had this happen. You start craving good stuff.
Love your body and what it has been through with you, done for you, given you.
This is just some of her teachings, she said it so much better and more inspirational than I have tried to convey here. I'm trying a smoothie tomorrow and I will share the recipe with you!
